Sustainable forestry

This group improves the understanding of the multidimensional value of forests — related to the bio- economy, carbon sequestration, and biodiversity. It aims to develop a holistic vision for the forest sector’s role in climate mitigation on top of the position paper on land use and nature-based removals published in 2023.

By aggregating participants’ expertise, the goal is to influence upcoming EU legislation, promoting the use of forest-based solutions and other sustainable practices.

Timeline: 1,5 years, until 30.6.2025

Recommended participants: Experts of carbon cycles in forestry, carbon sequestration, biodiversity and bioproducts
