As a responsible business we need to take account of the climate risks in the decisions we make about lending, investing and spending money. In 2015 we agreed on a position that underpins our approach to climate change across our whole company. Nordea’s own operations have a net zero carbon footprint, which is achieved by continuing to reduce our own emissions, purchasing renewable energy and purchasing carbon offsets equal to the amount of CO2 emitted.

Nordea applies internationally recognised principles of responsible investment and active ownership. In 2007 we were among the first Nordic institutions to sign the Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI). By endorsing the PRI we commit to integrating ESG factors into our investment analysis, decision-making processes and ownership policies and practices.
