CLC Position paper launch event: Holistic land use and carbon removals

After the summer break, Climate Leadership Coalition (CLC) is happy to invite you to our event de rentrée in Brussels: a networking breakfast followed by a debate on carbon removals with key decision-makers from the European Parliament and the European Commission. This will be a great opportunity to meet us and to get to know other CLC members in Brussels.

The event will take place at Sofitel Brussels Europe on September 19th from 9.00 to 11.00 CET, but alternatively you are also welcomed to join us remotely.

The event follows the presentation in June of our position paper on land use and nature-based carbon removals, which discusses the main issues regarding long-term carbon sequestration in natural ecosystems and how they can be supported by a sustainable bioeconomy. The agenda of the event is the following:

1. Welcoming words and opening of the meeting – Tuuli Kaskinen, CEO of CLC, and Henrik Ehrnrooth, Chair of the CLC Advisory Board
2. Why the EU needs a holistic land use plan to enable enhanced carbon removals – Juha Turkki, Development Director, CLC

4. Panel discussion by Members of the European Parliament
