It’s time to accelerate global climate action. United Nations climate conference COP28 is here. Climate Leadership Coalition will participate in the conference with more than 20 members from Sweden, Denmark and Finland being present in Dubai. This year all these countries have a country pavilion as Finland joins the conference with a great community of leading businesses.

What would a great outcome of negotiations look like?

Climate Leadership Coalition’s message to the negotiations is clear: we can’t wait, the green industrial revolution is happening, and bold policies and incentives are needed to drive investments. On top of the emissions reductions carbon removals have to be built to reach 1,5 degrees. CLC with its members is supporting the global business letter to the heads of the states with these strong goals:

  • Set targets for the phase-out of fossil fuels
  • Commit 100% decarbonized power systems by 2035
  • Ensure price on carbon that reflects the full costs of climate change
  • Support the Global South in developing 1.5°C-aligned economic pathways

On 12th of December (or soon after it) we will see, how the global community was able to work with these goals.

Where can you find us?

All Nordic pavilions are situated in the same area in COP28 Blue zone. The program of Sweden, Denmark and Finland can be followed as a webinar. And if you are present in Dubai, pop up to Finland’s pavilion at OR02G4. While Business Finland is hosting the pavilion, CLC is also actively participating to its organization as chair of the steering group and part of the core team.

These pavilions are a way for Nordic companies to show their solutions and leadership, but also to support the negotiators from Nordics. “We are looking for the strongest possible outcome from the negotiations on top meeting the leading partners in the field of climate”, says Tuuli Kaskinen.

Are there special programs by CLC?
