As the Climate Leadership Coalition (CLC) continues to grow, it welcomes three new members: Fiskars Group as an organizational member, and Miapetra Kumpula-Natri and Leo Stranius as personal members.

“Established in 1649 as an ironworks, Fiskars Group’s heritage is unique as the oldest company in Finland. Our vision is to have a positive, lasting impact on our quality of life. To make progress towards our vision, we need to focus our efforts on areas where we can have a sustainable influence. By 2027 we aim to recover or recycle 100% of waste generated within our manufacturing facilities, to reduce group-wide CO2 emissions of our production by 50% and to support our key suppliers in significantly reducing their emissions. CLC network will help us in achieving our goals,” said Jaana Tuominen, President and CEO at Fiskars Group.

“CLC has pioneered the climate change mitigation business and has become one of the main influencers in the area. I like the systemic approach developed and promoted by CLC and I am honored to join CLC as a personal member,” says Miapetra Kumpula-Natri, Member of the European Parliament and working in committees on energy, research and digitalization (ITRE) and international trade (INTA).

“CLC has rapidly risen to be one of the key influential organizations promoting climate business. It is a great honor to be a member. I’m willing to contribute and speed up the transition and adaptation towards a 1.5 degree carbon neutral society and to create a dialogue between civil society and businesses with different stakeholders,” says Leo Stranius, who has extensive experience working for various environmental organizations, including as Executive Director of the Finnish Association for Nature Conservation, the Finnish Nature League, and Citizens Forum.

CLC’s Chairman, Henrik Ehrnrooth, extended a warm welcome to the new members, noting that “Fiskars Group, as one of the forerunners in sustainability, and Ms Miapetra Kumpula-Natri and Mr Leo Stranius will bring considerable professional expertise that will allow us to further expand our activities into new areas”.

In line with our strategy, CLC is continuing its efforts to develop Nordic and international carbon neutrality projects across the forestry, agriculture, energy, transport and other sectors and is running initiatives to encourage consumers to adopt more climate-friendly decision-making strategies. We will also be working on the development of more effective carbon pricing mechanisms.
