Climate Leadership Coalition is a network of companies, research organizations and cities who strive to be among the leaders of their respective fields in terms of climate ambition. Together we strive to make a significant positive climate impact through business solutions. CLC has 56 organisational members and 20 personal members. Our members employ more than 400 000 people and represent approximately 50 % of the market cap of the OMX Nasdaq Helsinki stock exchange.
Together with our Nordic partners we are leading an initiative to set ambitious and clear goals for the EU. As a next step we are developing a market-economy-based systemic proposal that, combined with a well-planned regulatory framework securing emission reduction within the EU, would provide a fast, economically profitable and just transformation.
Would you like to be at the forefront of fighting climate change and lead this initiative?
We are looking for a Development Director, Climate policies and actions.
You will be responsible for the development of climate mitigation policies and actions jointly with CLC members. You will help build momentum for selected policies utilising CLC members and partner networks, support relevant parties in planning and implementing selected policies and participate in stakeholder relations including EU, UNFCCC, Carbon Price Leadership Coalition and European climate business networks. You will also manage and coordinate relevant CLC theme groups and participate in CLC’s strategic planning and event and communication planning.
Passion for and knowledge about climate issues are integral for success at this job. You have general knowledge of questions related to climate change and its mitigation and in-depth knowledge of climate-related market mechanisms. Your contact network is extensive and includes business professionals, public servants, political decision makers, environmental and climate NGOs and other influencers. You have excellent written and verbal communication skills and are fluent in Finnish and English. You have an academic education and a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience.
Experience from a relevant business, government and/or NGO sector or EU organisations as well as fluency in other EU languages are considered a plus.
